The East Fremantle Futures program has enjoyed a strong and rewarding start to the 2026 season, built on commitment, growth and connection. Throughout the preseason, the players have worked through a comprehensive training block that has focused on developing fitness, skill, game understanding and strong team values. The group has shown impressive dedication whilst embracing the standards of a high performance environment along with building strong friendships and trust within the squad.
The leadership group was recently voted on by their peers which includes; Will Davy, Jayden Makanza, Troy Warner & Beau Romaniello.
A highlight of the preseason was the scratch match victory against Peel Thunder, which provided a fantastic opportunity for the boys to showcase their development and experience match conditions at Shark Park. This was followed by a competitive hitout against our Colts Team, which rounded out the preseason perfectly. That match delivered valuable learnings, while also giving the players a real insight into what lies ahead for those aspiring to progress into the senior program. These experiences have strengthened the group’s connection, confidence and belief in what is possible through hard work and commitment.
As we lead into Round 1 against West Perth, there is genuine excitement around this group and the journey ahead. The Futures program remains focused on developing not just footballers, but young men who represent East Fremantle with pride, respect, and strong character.
We sincerely thank our families and supporters for their ongoing encouragement and support, which plays such an important role in the boys’ development.
